What a concept! How do you do that?
I remember coming home a few weeks ago after a dedicated day of shooting with a well known fellow Arfcommer who recently returned from his most recent Afganistan deployment.
I took too many rifles, and waaaaaay too much ammo......and we shot in the rain most the day. So I'm home cleaning guns that night (around 0:200 ) thinking to myself "now I gotta repack some of this ammo that got wet....do I have enough years left in me to shoot all this ammo"? Do I even have enough barrel life? Should I DE-Whore or buy more barrels?...wait, I don't know how to rebarrel...even if I did, I don't have all the correct tools and guages....does that mean I need to buy a truckload of uppers? SHIT!
Just some of my most recent, weird, 60 year old thoughts.
Then AIM announces the latest batch of 7.62x51 FN ...and of course I had to have more...I was down to my last 2k of 1970's FN...of course I liked shooting that last batch of clean DAG they got, so what the hell... I ordered another 5k of DAG.
By the way, while shooting in the rain, I had my first opportunity to shoot the latest IMI M855.....Fucking fantastic M855. So glad I bought 18 cases of that from Wideners a while back.
I asked Bryan @ AIM to hold off on shipping my FN and DAG because I was going out of town for a couple weeks to celebrate my 60th birthday. I get back, picked up the ammo at UPS yesterday, unloaded it last night and then made the FATAL mistake of logging on to ARFCOM.
I see the post about CMMG's fantastic price on the IMI M855........I was DOOMED and I knew it. I ordered 15 more cases. I have no idea how I'm going to pay my estimated quarterly taxes, but I can sleep 5 minutes longer knowing I've got 18k more IMI on the way. Denny....you got any deals on those recon barrels?
